This year the Hurston/Wright Foundation proudly celebrates 35 years of championing Black writers—honoring the legacy of Zora Neale Hurston and Richard Wright by nurturing creativity, amplifying voices, and preserving the stories that shape our world.
Since 1990, we’ve mentored thousands of writers, provided transformative workshops, and created safe spaces for truth and imagination. Our mission is more vital than ever.
Non-profits are under attack. The fundraising space has become extremly challenging. The arts are under threat. Censorship is rising. Black voices are being silenced.
We urgently need your help to ensure that Hurston/Wright continues to thrive, and help writers tell their stories. HWF is resilent and continues to strive for excellence. To do this work we need your financial support. By making a donation that is meaninful to you, we can reach our $50,000 goal.
Your support enables us to:
You’re telling the world that Black stories matter. That truth matters. That every writer deserves a place to grow, be heard, and thrive.
Join us. Be part of our legacy—and our future. Be the ink behind the revolution. Make your donation today. This is the time for writers to capture and tell our stories.
With deep gratitude,
The Hurston/Wright Foundation
